In terms of shade selection, I understand that the shades in the MAC line do go a full spectrum of colors but are in more subdued tones and finishes.

In fact, I got these ones from Target on a buy 1 get 1 free basis! You never get that kind of deal with MAC, for sure. Add a deeper crease shade and smudge some eyeliner or darker shadow on the lash line, and you’re done!Ĭhoosing between the MAC Paint Pots and the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoos is all a matter of brand preference and budget, with the Maybelline price point certainly lending itself more to hoard-ability. The Leather 80 Creamy Beige, however, is quickly becoming a favorite of mine: it works great as a base for smoky eye looks. Its light champagne color is the definite equivalent of the American 70 Barely Branded, and their bright neutral tone makes a great base for colors such as those in the Naked 3 palette. Carrying over my practice with Layin’ Low, the Japanese BE-01 also became a staple eyeshadow base. My first two Maybelline Color Tattoos were purchased in Manila, which were BE-01 and 15 Audacious Asphalt (we get both the American and Japanese lines here!).

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots in (L-R) Vintage Selection, Painterly, Layin' Low. Three of these are by MAC and the rest are by Maybelline. More than one coat may feel heavy and coarse. The color will really brighten your eyes. Here’s a round-up of all the potted cream eyeshadows I own.

Great color for the season and a great base which will last you all day long. That is my favorite way.I think such a gold shade is a must-have for me. The color really brightens the eyes up and if you pack this on your lid and line your eyes with jet black liner, this will really pop out. The pot is really heavy as it is glass so I don’t suggest these should carried. I apply the shadow in the shape of my eyes and then use that as an outline and fill in other colors. Here I mixed up some grey-black very randomly,I know this is not the very best combination.Crooked liner again 🙁 need to get another liner. I love how they don’t crease and serve great base to other shadows out of which you want to get some serious color out.I apply them with the finger or the brush they come with is great as well and serves the purpose of patting on the cream shadow on the lid. The texture is really soft mousse kinds and these dry and set in 30 seconds and then last almost ten hours or more.

When I apply more than one layer, this starts feeling coarse and the eyes feel dry and heavy. One thing I dislike about this is that this feels very gritty instead of smooth. The color is a bright shiny gold, it is metallic not really loosely shimmery but pure gritty metallic.
